We have worked with businesses that need to revise their activities to
suit new developments and market conditions, as well as companies that
are starting their plans from scratch.
Whatever your situation, Pearce Marketing's flexible
marketing solutions allow you to add cost-effective marketing expertise
to your team and get results..
1. Customer Research
When did you last ask your customers for feedback?
Fresh customer research is an invaluable step which
is so often skipped. There is no substitute for up to date and direct
customer feedback. You will gain valuable insights that will help you
with developing more successful sales messages and the most appropriate
marketing and communications plans - so you don’t waste money.
It is a great way to get some new testimonials and uncover
additional information for strategy and business improvements too. Having
a third party (like us) conduct telephone conversations or focus groups,
for example, yields great results since customers speak more freely and
honestly. A small research exercise is not expensive and means you get
your marketing right first time.
2. Marketing Audit
Are you already doing some marketing? Would you like
a cost-effective independent review of your activities to identify any
improvements that could be made to improve results?
The marketing audit will reveal whether you are using
the best mix of marketing tactics to achieve your business and marketing
objectives. This service involves a face to face meeting with your senior
team to discuss your business and to gather samples of sales and marketing
materials. A short report will be submitted that identifies which activities
could be improved, along with suggestions for more cost-effective communication
tactics.
Your business can then create a new marketing plan and
implement these activities. Or you could ask Pearce Marketing to help
with some or all of these tasks (see services below).
3. Marketing Strategy
Marketing focuses on knowing who your customers are,
researching their needs and preferences (what they want) and communicating
how these needs are better met by the benefits of your products and services,
rather than your competitors, so that they are motivated to buy from you.
A marketing strategy report will detail the research
into these areas, as well as the company’s strengths and weaknesses,
the market and competitors. The purpose of the strategy is to determine
how to meet your business objectives.
The marketing plan (see below) details the specific
actions/tactics that are required to carry out the strategy. For example,
direct marketing campaigns, website etc.
Pearce Marketing can also help you turn your existing
marketing strategy into a marketing plan.
4. Researching New Markets
Can you see an opportunity for your business to move
into a new market? Perhaps this would mean investing in equipment and
premises and developing new products, as well as reaching a new set of
customers.
A rigorous piece of market research is required before
a decision like this can be made.
Pearce Marketing can conduct the detailed research that
will provide you with the market, customer and competitor analysis you
require.
5. Marketing Plan
The aim of developing a marketing plan is to identify
the best mix of tactics that will communicate the business' unique selling
points (USPs) to the target customer segments..
This best marketing mix of tactics will vary according
to your business, but can range from online marketing (website, internet
and facebook adverts, pay-per-click (PPC)) and an email
marketing campaign, to exhibitions, speaking engagements, direct marketing,
social media marketing (eg blogs, facebook, twitter), digital marketing
(QR codes), PR, livery, brochures, technical papers, networking, marketing
support for resellers and much more.
It is vital to get your sales and marketing messages
correct, have good quality data on existing customers and prospects and
to have excellent sales processes to follow-up leads.
All marketing activities should have measurement structures
in place so that plans can be refined and improved.
Pearce Marketing will write a marketing plan and then,
unlike some consultants, be able to offer an outsourced marketing manager
service to implement this plan (see below). This is always done to an
agreed timescale to ensure this is cost-effective (e.g. a set number of
days per month).
If you were already overstretched with other important
jobs to be able to write a marketing plan this will be the ideal next
step. Don’t let your plan collect dust on a shelf!
6. Outsourced Marketing Manager
Pearce Marketing can be your outsourced marketing manager.
We can action and co-ordinate some or all of the implementation of your
marketing plan. Some people like to refer to this as a ‘freelance
marketing manager’ service.
Typically this service involves doing and managing a wide variety of marketing
communications projects. This includes market research, email marketing,
press releases, social media content and managing any third parties required,
such as designers for brochures and websites, as well as creating improved
sales tools such as quotes and proposals and marketing packs for resellers.
It is often useful to have a face to face meeting once
per month, but much of the work is done remotely and we keep in touch
by phone and email.
Email
marketing is a key tool in the marketing mix. It is cost effective,
targeted, personalised, measurable and good for attracting and retaining
customers. In the 2008 Email Census, email was rated the second-best channel
(after search engine optimisation) for return on investment.
If you would prefer to implement your marketing plan
yourself, we have one more service (see below) that may be useful.
7. Marketing Mentoring and Training
If you have the capacity, inclination and skill to implement
your own marketing plan, you may find Pearce Marketing’s mentoring
and training helpful.
- We can meet you once per month, for example, to discuss your marketing
plan and give feedback and suggestions. This is often reassuring for
a business leader who would like someone independent to discuss concerns
and ideas with.
- If you have any staff that will be tackling elements of the plan,
we can give them some initial training and also visit them on a more
regular basis to check their progress if required.

your profits.
